Personal Information - Who is Ian Mason?

I am an Australian in my late 30's interested in Permaculture, Community Development and Ecological Personal Development. I have a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of NSW. I ran Permaculture Sydney for a year before heading to bush retreats to work on developing and writing principles for (future) community development. I have written and self-published two small books (described below), tutored at University of NSW on the Transition to a Conserver Society, and live and function in both Adelaide and Sydney.

My central themes are that the world is approaching an era of holistic awareness and ecological living. Our future living is likely to be as different to our old way of living as the motor car is to the horse and cart, and our community processes are likely to reflect that. We can dream and envision future community living that can be practical, even if we don't know at present how it will be achieved. The dream is important. We want our steps to lead to a goal, not into a corner.
